3 Quick Home Remedies For Dark Under Eye Circles

Dark circles, droops and shadows can appear below the eyes for many reasons. It’s usually a result of swollen capillaries, which can happen after a restless night, heavy alcohol consumption, illness or just stress.
While many people are genetically more likely to suffer from bags and droops under the eyes, there are a few quick remedies you can try to reduce the swelling and give your eyes a quick pick-me-up.

Cool as a Cucumber

The old folk remedy about cucumbers is true. Of-course, we don’t always have time to sit for fifteen minutes with cucumber slices adorning our eyes, so the juice will also work in a jiffy. Simply pulse or hand grate some cucumber to extract the juice and dab a little under your eyes. This will reduce the darkness and swelling and get your eyes back to normal.

Teabags – Not Just a Refreshing Drink

At the end of a long day, you likely notice your eyes are looking dark and droopy. This is the perfect time to sit back and relax with a couple of teabags. Throw a couple of wet teabags into the freezer for a few minutes to get them nice and chilled, then place them gently over the eyes.

Allow them to sit undisturbed for about fifteen to twenty minutes for a soothing eye rejuvenation. Not only will it reduce the puffiness and shadows, but it will leave you feeling refreshed as well.

Look In Your Fridge and Freezer

Early in the morning, a quick rub with an ice cube will freshen up your eyes and work to reduce the puffiness and darkness that often appears. You can also make a homemade paste, consisting of equal parts turmeric, lemon juice and tomato juice.

Add a little flour to give it some consistency and apply it liberally to the area below the eye. Once the paste has set, remove it by gently splashing it with cool water. Remember not to pull or tug at the sensitive skin beneath the eye, as this causes wrinkles.
Whether you’re just a little overtired or suffering from allergies, puffy bags and droopy eyes can easily be remedied away in just a few minutes with handy ingredients found in your kitchen.
